About Us: Christian

I am a runner with a writing problem—or a writer with a running problem. As Associate Publisher, I do a little of everything at Outdoor Athlete. Part of my job is keeping the lights on and figuring out ways for the magazine to earn money, so sometimes I’m known as “the ad guy.” I also get to put in my two cents regarding story ideas and editorial direction, art and promotions. Occasionally, I get to write a piece or two.

Always fascinated by words and ideas, at OA I also get to feed a passion for the stuff you can do outdoors—running, cycling, paddling, snowshoeing, swimming, trekking, the list goes on.

I have been a runner almost my entire life. There are the t-shirts and medals left over from countless races from 5Ks to 50Ks just as you might expect from someone who has run for 30 years. Running used to be about PRs. Now my life is more about experiences—I’m focused on running for its health benefits and the longevity it might offer.

I hope that by sharing my experiences as I strive to hold onto fitness, health, and vitality in this 50-plus-year-old body that I might help you discover and connect with the athlete within. No matter how fast or strong you are. No matter your sport. Because, as cliché as it sounds, life is about the journey, not the finish line.

Now let’s go kick some butt.
